Chile has made mycological history – the first country to have fungi recognised in legislation as important as the other two “F”s - fauna and flora. The woman behind the campaign is Giuliana Furci, Chili’s first woman mycologist. Giuliana invited Stephen Axford and Catherine Marciniak from Planet Fungi to join her and some of the world’s leading fungi scientists on a fungi field trip in the remote forests of Patagonia.
