Energy Trials - Part 1 | The Lion Whisperer. In this exclusive members video, Kevin Richardson works with researchers Genevieve and Natalia to conduct energy trials on various lions at the sanctuary. Ultimately, Genevieve and Natalia want to measure how much energy lions need on a day-to-day basis. They do this by placing collars on the lions that measure acceleration on 3 different axes, forward/ backward, up/down, and left/right. The measurements from these different axes breaks down the lions movements and therefore, provides a broad measurement of how much energy the lions at the sanctuary use daily.
