A hundred years ago, a unit known as the Black Zaporozhians fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russians. Their descendants later defended their homeland during World War II. Today, the 72nd Brigade, named after the Black Zaporozhians, is once again fighting for the freedom of their homeland.
