Hamas releases dramatic footage claiming to show dawn raid on Israeli compound

Hamas, the Islamist militant group, has released footage of what it claims to be a dawn raid on an Israeli military compound. Binyamin Netanyahu has declared Israel is “at war” after Hamas militants launched a surprise attack from Gaza during a Jewish holiday, with thousands of rockets and armed fighters sent across the border to Israel. The Israeli prime minister ordered the army to retaliate against the group as he mobilised reserve forces. He vowed that “the enemy will pay a price he has never known”. The Israeli military has already launched airstrikes on targets in Gaza, with witnesses reporting hearing heavy explosions.
