Oxytocin Trial - Part 1 | The Lion Whisperer. In this episode we have a neuroscientist, Jessica Burkhart, join Kevin Richardson to conduct a series of Oxytocin trials on the lions at the sanctuary. Jessica's hypothesis is that lions are highly social due to a high number of oxytocin receptors (compared to their close relatives the leopard). If this is true, we should see an increase in affiliative behaviors, and tolerance towards other lions and a decrease in vigilance (defensiveness), after administration of oxytocin, as compared to baseline and saline studies. #OxytocinTrial #TheLionWhisperer #KevinRichardson
