"This song is written by commander of 3th century of 24th rifleman kurin lieutenant Ognev, killed in first battle of this kurin against bolsheviks near city Miaskivka at the beginning of June 1920. With this song we went to the front - song is sanctified by it's author's blood." - This explanation is written after the text of the song of 24th rifleman kurin (army unit in Ukrainian National Republic army), which is stored in the Central State Archive of Ukraine. Song is dedicated to Symon Petliura, Head of the Directorate of UNR and Chief Otaman (supreme commander) of the army of UNR.
