European badger | Meles meles | Jezevec lesní

The European badger (Meles meles) is a burrowing mammal that sleeps in a sett most of the day. In the spring however, when there are juveniles in the den, the badgers sometimes come out before the sunset. This is the best time to film these otherwise nocturnal animals. Before the badgers set out to the forest to look for food, they have to wake up properly first. They yawn, scratch their body and clean their fur.
