The name of this dish - burma - comes from the Crimean Tatar word burmak'- to wrap, to twist. This twisted pie made of unleavened dough and meat is one of the most favorite dishes on the Crimean Tatar table. Its variant with pumpkin and nuts is no less popular. In different regions of the peninsula these pies are called both sary burma and phultu. Take a look at how they were beautifully prepared by the famous master coppersmith Rustem Dervish. © @CrimeanTatars "Crimean Çayırs" project is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic within the Transition Promotion Program.
